This is our Shorter Shifter Shift Knob designed exclusively for the STi.  The thought behind this knob was to fix some of the criticisms of the STi shifter and aftermarket shift knobs:

-  The STi shifter is too tall
- Aftermarket knobs have too much play.
- I hate those plastic inserts
- Metal knob get too hot in the summer.
- My knob is not a tight as it use to be.  It often turns when I shift.
- Those set screws used with aftermarket knobs dent the threads on the shifter
- Last time I went to a meet, someone stole my shift knob

There is ZERO wobble! There are no plastic inserts and no insecure set screws.  The SSS Knob fits  much firmer than stock.  In fact, installed properly, it is virtually impossible to turn by human hands alone. It sits more than an inch lower than stock and can be used with the Kartboy short shifter for an insanely short stick.  As a bonus, due to the way it installs, a would-be knob thief would be quickly deterred.  The main body is hard anodized for long color life and the top is brushed aluminum and generously curved for comfort.  Installation requires cutting a little off the top of the shifter, which is quickly done since it is hollow and does not require removing the shifter.  The stock knob will go back as tightly as before.  And just to show that we thought of everything, the SSS Knob also comes with a slip-on cover, to prevent hot-hand associated with metal knobs exposed to direct sunlight when parked in hot summer states. Once installed, the reverse access slot is virtually imperceptible from most angles. 10-20 minute initial install.  Approximately 3 minutes any time after.
